Only the Deepest Red
Recollections of a muse
Only the Deepest Red is my first book and offers an intimate glimpse into the world of the late Jack Vettriano through the lens our enduring friendship and collaboration. The book traces my 25-year connection with the celebrated Scottish painter who was one of my closest friends, I photographed him, he painted me. United by a shared coastal heritage and a deep devotion to our craft, my story reveals the quiet truths behind the iconic paintings that he made, his artistic life, and the unseen bonds that shaped our work and creative lives.
Jack left the earth last year and this is my remembrance and tribute to him. In fact it is more than that, it feels like we are writing it together. I feel that he is here with me, as we recall those precious memories together. There are some people who walk with us in life for a time, who change the very fabric of our DNA. Jack was one of those people and this is our story.

MAGAZINE ARTICLE - FROM THE CANVAS TO THE LENS
"This is how the intriguing story of this artist was born - in the whirlwind of a life shared with a great master of the art world, Jack Vettriano. Grace carries within her a deep sensibility that has marked her since childhood. There are numerous famous paintings in which Grace posed for Vettriano - the muse who perfectly remembers the passionate, almost magical pull of the hours spent with the master, in his richly furnished rooms, where the two consumed hours of authentic, poetic, privileged and radiant life. Starting from nothing, they reached surreal heights together. Jack sees Grace and brings her to life in his paintings. Grace understands Jack, and so lives and relives their story - beginning from the encounter with an artist in whom she recognises herself, intimately."
